Politician, diplomat and writer Shashi Tharoor wears many hats, caps and topis. As a prominent public figure, he draws adoration and sometimes the hostility that accompanies fame. He has won numerous awards, including the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman, a Commonwealth Writers’ Prize and the Crossword Lifetime Achievement Award. In 2019, Dr. Tharoor was also awarded the Sahitya Akademi Award in the category of ‘English Non-Fiction’ for his book An Era of Darkness. Vir Sanghvi became editor of Bombay magazine at twenty-two, making him the youngest editor in the history of Indian journalism. He went on to edit Imprint and Sunday, then India’s largest-selling weekly newsmagazine. He has been both Editor and Editorial Director of the Hindustan Times and continued as columnist and advisor. His television career includes award-winning shows on the Star TV Network, NDTV, and CNN TV 18. He also has a significant parallel career as India’s leading food and travel writer.
