Learn more about the Fab Educators Summit at www.eduFAB.org Details about this session at Fab Educators Summit 2026: Presented by: Yahya Khalaf Alariny and Fatma Samir, San3a Tech, Cairo, Egypt Session Title: Empowering Educators: Blending Maker Mindsets and Physical Computing in K–12 Classrooms This talk shares insights from San3a Academy’s Maker Educator Lab, a 5-week pilot equipping Egyptian educators with maker education foundations and physical computing skills. Six educators from diverse school types engaged in an experience built on two pillars: Arduino-based physical computing and maker education practices, including maker mindsets, lesson planning, assessment tools, and adolescent learning needs. Grounded in regional classroom realities, the session highlights the technical, instructional, and pedagogical scaffolding used to support educators across subjects. Through brief case studies, we show how educators applied maker education across subjects. A math teacher designed a hands-on lesson to explore the concept of area using cardboard and basic electronics, while a science teacher created an activity visualizing particle motion with temperature, demonstrating how abstract concepts can become meaningful, student-centered learning experiences.
