Lost dog Lola found after 16 days in the brutally cold - SmithicAir

Full length video link below: Lola has been on the run, in freezing conditions since January 18th. She was seen that day and we did not have another sighting for two weeks. Linda Hartman, an awesome dog search volunteer, worked to get the word out. She asked a friend to help her with flyers and it was this friend who saw Lola trying to cross Barrington Road. SmithicAir had flown for Lola on two other occasions but with the new sighting, it only took 19 minutes to find her. This changed the trajectory of the race to save Lola. We now had an area. We tried to lure but Lola was too skittish. SmithicAir was not able to fly this morning so Michael from Best Furry Friends - Search and Rescue flew and found her. He decided to throw some Vienna sausages to her and she eagerly accepted this food but ran off when she was startled by Michael opening another can of sausages. SmithicAir and BFF met up tonight with Linda. We refound Lola, still in the same area. Linda and Michael set up a trap but Lola did not catch the scent. They decided to set up a second trap which intrigued Lola but she then ran in the other direction... right into the area where the first trap was set! Lola picked up the scent and it was then just a matter of time. Lola does have a sore on her side and her paws are obviously hurting her. Linda took her to the vet and reports that she has blisters on all paws, likely from frost bite. The laceration is healing. She weighs 28 lbs down from 42.
