This is the Story of Doris Deku, a successful female tiler in Ghana, who proves how women can succeed in TVET and presumed male-dominated trades. The Council for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (COTVET) and GIZ Ghana collaborate towards women empowerment and challenging gender stereotypes. This documentary aims to showcase success stories of women with diverse backgrounds who have benefitted from technical and vocational skills and employment in areas presumed to be male dominated. But also, to demonstrate the importance of vocational training towards engaging youth in meaningful economic opportunities and to inspire more women to engage in similar trades. This initiative has been implemented by GIZ’s Employment and Skills for Development in Africa (E4D) Programme and #eSkills4Girls under the Programme for Sustainable Economic Development (PSED), both commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development
