Edit 22nd October - This is a showcase of a Magicka Nightblade rotation fully updated for Murkmire. (Recorded during PTS 4.2.1). Which buffs/debuffs am I including and why? - In this parse I have Minor Vulnerability, Combat Prayer in execute, Elemental Drain, Orbs and Minor Sorcery present. This is to enable me to compare as fairly possible with other Magicka classes (and most interestingly, directly with the Magicka Templar). Please see this text for the reasoning behind the buffs that are used here: https://textuploader.com/dv8g2 The DPS of this class should only be compared to other Magicka classes in my recent videos - and NOT the Stamina classes. Thanks to @stileanima for helping me out again. Do check out her youtube for the Magicka Sorcerer (Pet and Non-Pet tests - done in the same style like this) - / @stileanima Sustain for the Magicka Nightblade certainly took a big hit compared to the Wolfhunter patch. However, I still consider the Magicka Nightblade to have the best sustain out of all Magicka classes (just about). Max Health and Max Magicka Food was somewhat a struggle to sustain on a 6mil with orbs even with the Absorb Magicka enchant, so by using Clockwork food, the sustain and rotation are much more manageable, with less pressure of having to keep up siphoning attacks. Build (as seen and used in the Video) -- https://i.imgur.com/5w1e0lk.png Combat Metrics Parse from Video -- https://i.imgur.com/BeH4MLP.png --- Briefly about the rotation: This is a fully dynamic rotation. The general focus is to keep up your DOTs to a reasonable level without reapplying too early and try to make the most out of the burst phases. The general priority is to fire a bow proc as soon as possible, as well as refreshing Merciless Resolve whenever required. Beyond this, keeping up Blockade of Fire is most important. Rearming Trap (or Channeled Acceleration), Twisting Path and Crippling Grasp can be then reapplied when possible, before reverting to Elemental Weapon, which is our spammable. The priority shifts, however, when Soul Harvest is used. Prior to using Soul Harvest, it is beneficial to ensure a reasonable duration remaining on your DOTs. If there are DOTs with 1 or maybe 2 seconds left, it can be better to refresh these DOTs first. Once you use Soul Harvest, you'll get the most out of it if you use only your Direct Damage attacks for the upcoming 6 seconds (Elemental Weapon, Bow Procs). Crippling Grasp is worth it if you can use it within the first 2 seconds of Soul Harvest. I chose to showcase a rotation where Destro Ultimate is only used at the start, to try and give as many examples of Soul Harvest usage as possible (they are not all perfect though, and for sure you shouldn't get too hung up on that). In execute, my preference is to drop both Crippling Grasp and Twisting Path. Despite the increased cost of the execute, this is still the cheapest part of the fight, and can still be a hefty resource drain if your resources are not managed well in the fight before reaching execute. --- Here are the proposed changes to the Magicka Nightblade Class in Patch 4.2.0 which may affect the rotation (there is a lot): Assassin’s Blade: Increased the cost of this ability and its morphs by approximately 30%. Grim Focus: Fully-Charged Heavy Attacks now grant 2 stacks towards the spectral bow proc for this ability and its morphs. The spectral bow proc is no longer free, and costs half the amount of a regular Grim Focus. Fixed an issue where you could generate stacks towards the spectral bow proc through unintended means. Path of Darkness: This ability no longer deals damage. It now grants Major Expedition to you and your allies on the path, and for up to 2 seconds after leaving it. Twisting Path (morph): This morph now adds damage. The damage value is the same as what is currently on Live. Refreshing Path: This morph now adds healing. The healing value is equal to the damage value of Twisting Path. Siphoning Strikes: Fully charged Heavy Attacks now restore twice the amount of Health and resources for this ability and its morphs. Strife: Reduced the damage done by this ability by half, but it now also heals for 50% of the damage done and can now target you or any ally. The total healing amount remains unchanged. Swallow Soul (morph): This morph now doubles the damage, but decreases the heal to 35% of the damage done and can only target you. The passive Minor Vitality effect has been removed. Funnel Health: This morph will now always heal you in addition to an ally. --- Music by: Kabbalistic Village http://kabbalisticvillage.com/
