The question all students of true crime ponder - was the Thames Torso Murderer and Jack the Ripper the same person or where there two serial killers operating in London at the same time? Welcome to the House of Lechmere PLEASE SUBSCRIBE, LIKE, SHARE AND COMMENT BELOW! In this episode Edward Stow introduces the Thames Torso Murders - a series of gruesome crimes that were committed between 1873 and 1902. These were: The Battersea Mystery of 1873; The Putney Torso of 1874; The Tottenham Court Road and Bedford Square Mysteries of 1884; The Rainham Mystery of 1887; The Whitehall Mystery of 1888; The Elizabeth Jackson case of 1889; The Pinchin Street Torso of 1889; The Regent's Canal Body of 1891; Jessie Durien in the Regent's Canal in 1898; and The Salamanca Place Mystery of 1902. These are all discussed with reference to the current Golden State Killer case. Can the leading Jack the Riper suspect Lechmere possibly have been responsible for these killings alongside the Jack the Ripper and Whitechapel Murders? Edward Stow will examine each of these cases in greater detail in future episodes of the House of Lechmere so keep watching! #jacktheripper #truecrime #charleslechmere #1888 #history #ripperology #charlescross #thamestorsomurders #psychopath
