CURRENT S02 Wk04.2: Writing Place Pt.2

This is the second of two broadcasts we ran featuring student work which came from a 4th/5th year elective run by Anna Ryan in SAUL. The module introduced writing as a potential tool for architectural exploration. Across the two weeks, students were encouraged to pick up to 3 places to explore in words amounting to a collection of pieces about 3000 words in length. Twitter:   / current_ireland​​   Current is a project originating in UCD and involving architecture schools across Ireland. This regular ‘zoomcast’ will present features on what the faculty, staff and students are up to – in projects, in practice and in research – and on what is current. We will ask invited guests to share their enthusiasms – favorite books, pictures, places visited – and will explore themes and issues relevant to contemporary architecture. As long as we cannot all be in the same place at the same time, Current is intended to provide ‘a shared stream of thought’ through which the culture of architectural education can be sustained. Between us, the schools will produce a number of programs each week, typically running from 1-2pm. All are welcome to join, ask questions, and become part of the conversation.
