Preparation: In a saucepan, combine the sugar and water and bring to a boil without stirring. After it boils, add the lemon juice and simmer on very low heat for about ten minutes. Then, remove it from the heat. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs thoroughly. Add the thick cream, desiccated coconut, semolina, sugar, vegetable oil, custard (if using), baking powder, and vanilla extract. Mix everything well. Pour the mixture into a 30 cm (12 inches) square baking dish or tray. Create vertical and horizontal lines to form squares using the cream-filled pastry bag. Bake in a preheated oven on the middle rack for 20 minutes at 180°C (356°F) with heat from the bottom only. Then, move it to the top rack and broil directly under the heat for 2 minutes. Remove the tray from the oven and pour the cold syrup over it. Allow it to cool completely. After it cools, add more cream between the lines.
