Comet PBX25 Soft Wash Pump Field Testing as an AR45 and P40 Alternative: Machine 1: blue agricultural hose- Comet BPX25. Machine 2: 10gpm Pressure Washer with pressure hose. I took the AR45 off my trailer, but this gives a good interpretation of flow with AR45/P40. Keep in mind, pressure is higher, so keep that in mind. The Comet PBX25 is a durable, self priming diaphragm pump designed for low pressure chemical applications such as soft washing, lawn care, and crop treatment. It is built for strong chemical resistance, similar to the P40 and AR45, and holds up well with sodium hypochlorite and surfactants. The pump delivers steady performance with a maximum pressure rating near two hundred ninety PSI and a flow rate at its peak of 7.5gpm. In real field use it behaves like the smaller sibling of the P40. You get similar pressure and a familiar feel at the gun, with slightly less reach and a bit less overall flow. Its biggest advantage is control. The PBX25 allows tighter spray patterns, reduced overspray, and better protection for plants, windows, and sensitive surfaces. It gives you a more manageable and predictable spray compared to large gas systems while still providing strong cleaning capability. It’s the perfect gas roof pump for companies that primarily downstream houses with high flow machines 8/10gpm. If you’re getting a gas pump to wash houses, definitely get a P40 or AR45. I don’t like washing houses with gas pumps because you can’t dial down the SH below 1.5% and it takes a minute to switch between cleaning solution and water, which puts you at higher risk of not offering high levels of plant and property protection.
