How to talk to men and boys about the Manosphere | Ben Hurst | TEDxLondon

The manosphere has gone mainstream and its misogynistic teachings are now commonplace on and offline. Masculinity educator, Ben Hurst, has spent over a decade speaking to boys and young men about what it means to be a man and believes that conversations are key to combatting the manosphere’s harmful lessons. Using conversation models like ALEC (Asking, Listening, Encouraging and Checking in), Ben shows it’s possible to meet boys and young men where they’re at and help them rediscover what healthy masculinity looks like. Ben is an activist, advocate, speaker, host, facilitator, trainer and consultant. As the Director of Facilitation and Training at Beyond Equality, he focuses on deconstructing and reconstructing masculinities with men and boys. Ben is also the co-host of Climate Curious, a podcast for those who care about the world but find the current conversation about climate change confusing, scary or boring.
