Sometimes there is an asterisk in the subtitles. This means that there is more information in this accompanying text. These video images were all recorded at the station of Untervaz-Trimmis. Although this looks like a narrow-gauge station, it can indeed be reached by standard-gauge rolling stock. Some tracks, especially the street tracks, are 3-rail. The other tracks are all narrow-gauge. We see some activities of one of the shunting locomotives stationed at the station, in this case the Geaf 2/2, no. 20604, a product of Stadler. The RhB, in cooperation with the MGB, ordered seven of these locomotives in 2018 and have been in use since 2020. The Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn also has seven. A brief explanation of what the abbreviation Geaf means: • G = narrow gauge locomotive, for adhesion • e = electric • a = accu (= battery) • f = radio control • 2/2 = 2-axle, both with motors This locomotive is a hybrid locomotive. In the video you can see that it drives under the wire, but also, when it picks up wagons at Kieswerk Untervaz, that it operates on its own extra lithium-ion batteries. This track has no overhead line. The track to Kieswerk is designed as a kind of half "T". When wagons go to Kieswerk, they have to be pulled from the station to the "T" and a little further to near Holcim Zement, which is also located on this track. https://www.holcim.ch/de/zementwerk-u.... Then the wagons have to be pushed to Kieswerk. Wagons for Holcim, on the other hand, have to be pushed from the yard to Holcim, because otherwise the locomotive would lock itself in. This track is also 3-rail, which makes it possible to use it for both narrow and normal gauge. We also see locomotive Ge 4/4 II 622, which is equipped with a total advertisement of the Hakone Tozan Railway. The Hakone Tozan Railway and the Rhaetian Railway have been partners since 1979. https://www.rhb.ch/en/company/busines... I hope you enjoy it again!
