Heading into a second run of Round 3 in the WEC-Xperience Championship. After the penaly in Race 1, I went out again to see if I could redeem myself. 100 minutes around the iconic Imola Circuit in the Romagna region of northern Italy, in the trusted BMW M4 LMGT3. This time around it was a field of only GT3s. Sometimes this is a blessing, sometimes a curse, but much more predictable. Again starting toward the back of the grid after qualification. The first few laps were nose to tail racing. It felt at times I was in an AI race, so i took an early pitstop, which took me out of order but into clear air. The highlight of this race was a pass on the Iron Lynx Porsche on the penultimate lap, through Rivazza (Turn 17). The rest of the race was pretty incident free, with a final finishing position of 13th. Despite the penalty in the previous race, it still garnered more points than this race, but I enjoyed this race significantly more. Round 4 will be back in the USA at Sebring.
