In this video I am knitting a rainbow cardigan using acrylic yarn that I picked up from The Range. I really wanted to make my own cardigan for some time, but as I am still a beginner I was worried to take on the challenge. I have looked at loads of patterns online and I really struggle to understand the patterns still, so from watching video's on you-tube, I saw loads of other people making cardigans and jumpers without a pattern. I saw even beginners doing this and making it look really easy so I thought why not give it a try! This actually was quite easy to do. It was very time consuming, but it was just the process of knitting up lots of rectangle shapes and then sewing them together to make a cardigan. If you can do the knit stitch, pearl stitch, and decreases, then you will be able to make this same cardigan. The cardigan that I made was very oversized, which was what I wanted, although I could have done with making more decreases in the sleeves to they were tighter in my wrists. Overall this project was not at all difficult, just very time consuming. I used up 2 packets of the multicoloured wool, and they were £8 per pack of wool, so the cardigan was £16 total to make, and there is leftovers. It took me around 8 hours of just sewing to get all the pieces sewn together and the ends weaved in, and the cardigan in total took around 80 hours of knitting. Bearing in mind that I am really a beginner and was using 4mm needles, I think that was okay! I am so happy with how the cardigan turned out and I absolutely love it! I am completely obsessed with it and have worn it 3 times since finishing it. I am really excited to make more cardigans and try out other knitting techniques and keep improving my skills. I hope you enjoyed the video, and please let me know if you have any ideas for future knitting projects you would like to see on my channel. Thanks for watching!
