Omar Khayyam is a very famous poet in Persian language but also around the world. Samarkand, a novel by the Lebanese novelist Amin Maalouf tells the story of Omar Khayyam's famous Rubaiyat, his book of poetry. In this video, I will summarise and analyse the novel, but also I will talk about Khayyama and his poetry. He is my favourite poet.
