In this session, Bena Kallick and Arthur L. Costa, co-founders of the Institute for Habits of Mind, will introduce the Habits of Mind—dispositions that strengthen students’ ability to think deeply, persist through difficulty, and communicate with clarity and purpose. In this webinar, you’ll explore: ✅ Why “giving up” and vague language are symptoms of deeper thinking challenges ✅ What the Habits of Mind are—and why they matter across all ages and disciplines ✅ How to help students persist, reflect, and think more intentionally ✅ Practical ways educators can cultivate stronger thinking dispositions in daily practice ✅ How Habits of Mind support both academic growth and lifelong learning About our presenters: Bena Kallick is an author, speaker, and educational consultant who has co-authored numerous books on Habits of Mind with Arthur Costa, including Students at the Center: Personalized Learning with Habits of Mind. She is Co-Founder and Director of the Institute for Habits of Mind. Arthur L. Costa is Professor Emeritus at California State University, Sacramento, past president of ASCD, and author or editor of many foundational works on teaching for thinking, including The School as a Home for the Mind and Developing Minds.
