Run with me 100 Miles Ultra Marathon in Florida - Long Haul 100 Miles. An adventure sharing good miles with friends on our way to a fast paced Western States 100 miles qualifier! Long Haul 100 miles ultra marathon was my first official 100 miles ultra marathon of 2025. To be fully honest, it's been a rough year - not "running wise", but "life wise" - and coming into Long Haul I was certainly in a low. But what pushed me to race it was that I'd get to spend good times with friends on trail (Fanny, Jeff, Lindsay, Michelle, etc.). It's exactly what I needed...! The course of Long Haul 100 miles is not the most exciting - 16.6 mile loop on flat non-technical trail. Really a great setting for a sub24, but not my typical type of adventure. But what the course lacked (sorry Florida...), the community and friends more than made up for it! I decided to race this ultra marathon to 'feel good', which also applied to my pacing strategy. Using low pace right out of the gate, followed by run / walk cycles early on, I was able to stay fresh the (almost) whole way! Coming out of this race, I was revigorated both physically and emotionally. What's next? Well, I have a big year coming up (5x 200 miles and ~8-9x 100 miles). But short term - Leona Divide 100 Miles April 12, Canyon Ultras 100 Miles April 25, and Cocodona 250 Miles May 5. As always - Thanks for watching and remember - Work Hard! Believe in yourself!
