This Sortie is based upon a hymn tune familiar to pilgrims the world over, but forever associated with the Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes and with the hymn "Immaculate Mary, our hearts are on fire". It is treated, here, to Toccata-like outer sections, with a more mysterious middle "verse". This piece is included in the first volume of Sortie Sorted, published by @ChurchOrganWorld. The sample sets can be heard from four positions: console, front of the church, centre of the church, rear of the church. This recording uses the rear of the church position.
