Happy Halloween Piers! October has been a spooktacular month for our underwater camera, with some spine-tingling sights! The Lemon Shark is back after almost a year of being MIA, which is a fin-tastic return! We hit the jackpot with a multitude of shark sightings, from Nurse Sharks of all sizes to the return of the Lemon Shark. And the pièce de résistance, the colossal 12 to 15-foot Hammerhead Shark - a truly jaw-dropping moment! Grey Trigger Fish made a haunting reappearance, along with a couple of juvenile Pork Fish fry sightings. Ghostly jellyfish sightings were aplenty this month, perfectly in sync with the Halloween spirit, and we even spotted a new, mysterious species of jellyfish (soon to be on the fish page to help identify). The Black Grouper was a sight to behold, changing colors and casting a spell on the camera! Burr and Porcupine fish, along with a new addition - the Checkered Puffer. Crabs galore, with many doing their spooky "fall" to the ocean floor. We even caught a quick glimpse of the elusive Soapfish! A small school of Mullet were finally captured and a school of Bluefish, well over 1000 strong, brought a mesmerizing spectacle of oceanic beauty. But wait, there's more! In the dead of night, a creepy slug-like creature crawled over the dome, leaving us with goosebumps and questions. But beware the unwelcome guest - the Lionfish. They may be mesmerizing, but they're no treat to have around! Luckily, the blennies didn’t get gobbled up by the untamed lion.
