A nice walk to the Mehoopany creek bridge crossings at Ricketts PA. Bowman’s creek branch.

Hello friends. This was indeed a fun one. We take a nice walk through the woods along the the Lehigh Valley railroads Bowman’s creek branch. Opening in 1893 as part of a through line from Wilkes-Barre to Towanda PA, however the construction of this project started out as many different railroads building different sections and them all being controlled by the Lehigh Valley Railroad. The section we are walking today was, I believe, built by the Loyalsock railroad circa 1884. We end up in the former lumber town of Ricketts PA which is now long abandoned. There is a lot of history to learn and cover about that topic and I’m just not there yet. In the meantime let’s do some bushwhacking and go see something cool. Thank you for watching! 10/26/25
