On Saturday, August 23rd, 2025, I once again chased the Reading and Northern's famous 4-8-4 steam locomotive #2102 as it led the final Iron Horse Ramble excursion of the season from Nesquehoning to Pittston and return for the annual Pittston Tomato Festival. With there being a variety of unique shots on the Lehigh Line, I decided to dedicate this chase to entirely new shots I have never done before with 2102. Needless to say, it was an action-packed day, and 2102 put on an excellent show as always! This ramble was also unique due to the inclusion of another historic piece of equipment: a 1950 Mack Fire Truck! Owned by a Reading and Northern employee, this fire truck was put on display in Nesquehoning next to 2102, making a unique shot of beautiful, historic equipment from the same era upon departure. Now, without further ado, please enjoy the final Iron Horse Ramble of the 2025 season, as we pursue the thunderous 2102 on its way to Pittston! 0:00 Intro 0:25 Preparing for departure with the 1950 Mack Fire Truck 1:11 5-minute warning whistle 1:51 NQPI departs Nesquehoning 4:40 White Haven Tunnel 6:24 Laurel Run 7:31 Duryea 8:56 2102 moves into Pittston Station for boarding 11:23 McAlpine St, Avoca, PA 12:37 Solomon’s Gap 13:35 JTPI departs for Pittston 14:22 Penobscot 16:09 White Haven 17:14 Jim Thorpe Jct. 19:55 JTEX and NQPN depart Nesquehoning in the early night 22:51 Outro Music in this video: Song: Tropic Fuse Artist: French Fuse Licensed to YouTube by: YouTube Audio Library
