We began our food tour at Banshi Di Hatti, a beloved spot run by the third generation of the family. Known for their chole bhature, they serve a unique twist with bhature stuffed with aloo or paneer. It’s a treat you simply can’t miss. Next, we visited Ved Dhaba on Chandrawal Road, a place Anubhav frequented during his hostel days. Famous among locals and students, their menu includes fresh and hygienic options like chana dal, rajma, butter paneer masala, and tandoori roti. We also tried their signature sweet matka malai toast, which was delightful. Manohar Matthi Wala, also on Chandrawal Road, was our next stop. Known for their savory snacks, especially matthi, they offer a wide variety of options. We tried their healthy matthi and couldn’t resist picking up an assorted snacks box for later. At Gullu’s, opposite the Malka Ganj bus stop, we experienced a legacy that started with simple dishes outside the State Transport Authority office. Today, they serve a range of delicious fares. We picked up our order here and enjoyed their rich and robust mutton keema with soft, fresh roti. The Corner Wali Matthi Shop on Chandrawal Road is Anubhav’s favourite spot for mathi. We spoke to the current owner, who shared the shop’s legacy, and then indulged in some of their most popular snacks with a cup of chai. As always, everything was fresh and delicious. Bablu Snacks near Ghanta Ghar was our next destination. Famous for their extensive tawa menu, we ordered the chicken tikka tawa masala. The chicken tikka, tossed in a flavorful gravy, was an absolute delight. Our final stop was Bikaner Sweet Center near Ghanta Ghar, where we ended the tour on a sweet note with moong dal halwa and gajar ka halwa. Both desserts were rich, warm, and the perfect conclusion to a memorable food tour in Malka Ganj.
