Cheap oils like palm oil were mixed, along with dangerous chemicals such as beta-carotene and acetic acid esters to avoid detection in lab tests. This was a direct betrayal of devotees’ faith and safety. The SIT named 36 accused, including former TTD chairman and close associates of YSRCP leaders. Officials allegedly colluded with suppliers, submitted false quality reports, and awarded contracts under political protection. While the SIT stated that ghee itself was not used, attempts are now being made to mislead the public by focusing only on “no animal fat evidence,” diverting attention from the real crime. Some chemicals used can even be derived from animal fat — a question that still remains unanswered. Committing a crime is one thing, but justifying it is an even greater sin.
