Maple Custard Recipe: Adapted From The Duncan Hines Dessert Book 3 large eggs 1/3 cup sugar 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon vanilla 2 cups milk, scalded 6 tablespoons pure maple syrup 1. Heat oven to 350 F. 2. Heat milk in a saucepan until hot to the touch but not boiling. Let cool for 5 minutes. 3. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar, salt, and vanilla. 4. Slowly pour in scalded milk into egg mixture and whisk together. 5. Strain mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a glass liquid measuring cup. 6. Grease 6 custard cups with pan spray. 7. Put 1 tablespoon maple syrup into the bottom of each custard cup. Place cups into a baking pan or roasting pan. 8. Divide custard mixture into the 6 custard cups. 9. Heat up water in a large saucepan. Pour into the baking pan around the custard cups. 10. Place the pan in the oven and bake 30-40 minutes or until a knife inserted in the center of the custard comes out clean. Let cool, then run a knife around the custard, then turn out onto a plate.
