Forgotten Recipe- Strawberry Pretzel Salad From a 1980’s Church Cookbook

Travel back in time when everything with jello was called a salad! Learn how to make this gelatin creation from a 1980’s church cookbook! Strawberry Pretzel Salad: (Adapted From Favorite Recipes Cookbook, Lutheran Church of Our Savior, 1980) 2 2/3 cups pretzels, coarsely chopped 1/2 cup butter, melted 3 tablespoons sugar Mix together & press into a greased 9x13 pan. Bake at 300 F for 10-15 minutes. Set aside to cool. 2 (3 oz) packages strawberry Jello 2 cups boiling water 1/2 cup cold water 16 oz. Package of frozen strawberries, chopped (make sure they are still partially frozen). Mix the jello with the boiling water & dissolve. Add the cold water, then the partially frozen chopped strawberries. Set aside to partially gel. 1 (8 oz) packages softened cream cheese 2/3 cup sugar 4. 5 ounces cool whip Mix these three ingredients together, then spread over the crust. Add the partially gelled jello mixture over it. Spread until even and refrigerate one hour or so to set.
