Wildlife of Bonnet Springs Park

I was already planning on checking this place out but when I heard "Bonnet Springs Park in Lakeland, Florida, has been named the Best City Park of 2025 by USA Today." That really got me curious. We didn't sample all the park has to offer. Mainly checked out the grounds, the treehouse and the butterfly garden. I was of course looking for wildlife and I found alligators, insects, a bunny, turtles, and the usual birds one might find around water in Florida. The spring run was clear. There's a section of it you can walk through. There's a waterfall but I couldn't get an image of it without a bunch of signs in the way. I made a comment that day about there always being an eyesore in every shot. Probably an over exaggeration. Not sure I would consider this the best in the country but I guess that's why we vote on these things. It's still a very nice place to visit and spend a few hours. The boardwalk up in the trees is worth stopping by to see for sure! In one of the visitors centers a vendor was set up with a couple injured owls. I didn't film it but it was cool to see an eastern screech owl. I still don't have a wild one on camera. The building with the butterflies was one of the highlights for me. It was crowded but I enjoyed getting to see the large caterpillars.
