How to Knit Simple Boot Cuffs | Straight Needles

//ABOUT THIS VIDEO// A perfect weekend project to create simple easy boot cuffs using straight needles. This project uses only two different patterns which are easy to pick up. This pattern uses size US 7 and US 10 needles. The patterns used are the rib pattern and the lace pattern. Number of stitches: You measure the number of stitches based on where you want the cuffs to hold. Just remember that it is a multiple of 12. You always want to use the lower number to keep the tightness. For demonstration, I have cast on 60 stitches. *Steps* Cast on number of desired stitches (60 for demo) on US 7 needles For 2", do the rib design Row 1: (k2, p2)*, repeat * till end of row Row 2: (p2, k2)*, repeat * till end of row Repeat Row 1-2 for 2". Move the stitches to US 10 needles: Row 1: (sl1, k2, psso, k3)*, repeat * till end of row Row 2 (all even rows): purl till end of row Row 3: (k1, yo, k4)*, repeat * till end of row Row 5: (k3, sl1, k2, psso)*, repeat * till end of row Row 7: (k4, yo, k1)*, repeat * till end of row Repeat these 8 rows till you receive desired length (minus 1" for border). Repeat Row 1 one more time Row 2: purl till end of row Row 3: (k5, inc 1 st)*, repeat * till end of row Move back to US 7 needles Repeat rib pattern for 1". Cast off all the stitches Cut some extra yarn (2-3") for sewing. Finish off by sewing the open sides together and cleaning the extra yarn.
