This is a perfect weekend project and a great way to introduce knitting to the kids. This pattern also shows you two magic tricks that come out of it. Watch and you'll see...it is amazing. * Material* Medium weight 4 yarn US size 4 needles *Steps* CAST on 32 stitches Row: (sl1, k1)*, repeat * till end of row Repeat above row till project measures 3.5". Row 1: knit Row 2: purl Repeat Row 1-2 two more times Creating the flap: Row 1: k1, ssk, k until 3 sts remaining, k2tog, k1 Row 2 (all even rows; WS rows): purl till end of row Repeat Rows 1-2 till you have 6 sts remaining Row 3: ssk, k1, yo, k1, k2tog Row 5: ssk, k1, k2tog Row 7: sl1, k2tog, psso Cut yarn and weave in. Add button or ribbon for closing sleeve.
