Hello fellow Dog Lovers! Here's us cleaning our precious little Stella's teeth, in April, 2023; she was 16 years young. Stella was part Chihuahua and Jack Russell (a Jack Hua-Hua, or a Jane Russell!) Sadly, Stella joined the angels in June of 2024, just a few months shy of her 18th birthday. But when Stella crossed that Rainbow Bridge she had every one of her little teeth! When Stella was only two, she was shipped from Louisiana to Michigan in a 'rescue wagon.' (Two dog rescue groups swapped a load of unwanted dogs to increase their chances of adoption.) So when I spotted this little firecracker in the dog shelter, I knew immediately she was my Stella! (My grandma used to bowl with a lady named Stella, and I always loved that name.) So we brought this little munchkin home, to Stella's new forever home! People often list ways to improve a dog's longevity and quality of life. But too often they don't teach how to keep a dog's teeth clean. Regularly cleaned teeth = better health--for everyone--you and me included! Sure those 'teeth treats' may help, and a vet can clean them, but the dog usually has to be anesthetized and it can be hazardous and traumatic; plus it's expensive, too. I say, start the dog young (or as soon as you get them), develop a routine, stay consistent, and you and your dog may enjoy a lot more quality time together. I ask you: if YOU could not brush your own teeth, wouldn't you want a trusted loved one to clean them for you? So check out my brief video, and I'll show you how I've always brushed all my dogs' teeth. I feel that if done gently and with common sense, any dog will 'let you in' to help them with their teeth. If you have any questions, please let me know! Cheers!
