Today I walk the delightful Kerala destination of Fort Kochi which turned out to be one of the most pleasant places I've ever had the good fortune of walking. On the ferry over I meet a man who is engaged in a social endeavor of re-invigorating the dying art of weaving by loom. He created an organization named Save The Loom and explains to me that after covid the industry suffered badly and lost many of it's workers. Save The Loom hopes to restore the industry to its former glory. The colonial Dutch, Portuguese, and English architecture abounds throughout the streets of Fort Kochi with massive tress offering leafy promenades from which to enjoy the view. We visit the church where Vasco da Gama spent thirty eight years at rest before being repatriated which has been a goal of mine for some time as my YouTube channel's name is a play on his name. There are many people to chat with including numerous rickshaw drivers, shop attendants, and business owners. I return to one shop after chatting with a few women to buy some tea, and if left to their very good selling techniques, I'd have walked away with a great deal more than what would have liked. This was perhaps the most enjoyable day I've spent in numerous trips to India.
