The TBC@UBC Network was excited to host this online session on "Learnings and Reflections from the BC Team-Based Primary Care Evaluation" in partnership with UBC's Innovation Support Unit on Thursday, June 12, 2025, from 12 - 1:30pm. Developed collaboratively with primary care partners and funded by the Ministry of Health, the BC Team-Based Primary Care Evaluation seeks to better understand the current positive benefits of the transition to team-based primary care (TBC). It focuses on five areas of the TEAM Framework: patient experience, provider experience, team function, capacity and access, and attachment. The evaluation aims to engage up to 30 primary care teams across diverse models of care and regions in the province. Using an action research approach, the ISU works with participating teams to gather information using three tools (a patient experience survey, a team survey for providers and staff, and a clinic report) and then co-create actions for quality improvement from the evaluation learnings. In this session, participants: Learned about the ISU’s action research approach and how it supports primary care teams in moving from evidence to action Heard reflections and lessons learned from the evaluation to date, including key considerations for primary care evaluation and how to support teams in using data to inform quality improvement Learned about emerging provincial-level findings Speakers: Angela Randall Evaluation Project Lead, Innovation Support Unit Angela Randall (MPH) is an Evaluation Project Lead with the Innovation Support Unit (ISU).
