The answer to that is a resounding "hell yes". As you get older, your tissues tend to become less pliable, and making sure you regularly work them through a full range of motion can be the difference between "nasty pains" and "mad gains" - particularly if you're still training hard as ever. Not only are you likely to find that your shoulders, elbows, neck, and general movement feel much better, but from my experience, once you make stretching a regular part of your routine, it is easy to travel more smoothly on your road to exciting new PRs. What's more: stretching by itself can be a great way to "turn back the clock" on your upper body strength by restoring the buoyant "movability" you once had in your youth - and that alone can help you unlock more strength you may have forgotten you even had.
