In today’s relaxing rainy nighttime walk through Zagreb, we explore the heart of the city’s beautiful Lower Town (Donji Grad) on foot. Our journey begins in front of the iconic Zagreb Cathedral, one of the most famous landmarks in Croatia. From there, we stroll through Europe Square, passing the statue of beloved Croatian writer August Šenoa. We continue down Draškovićeva Street, then follow Jurišićeva as we make our way toward the vibrant main square, Trg bana Josipa Jelačića. Here, we pause for a moment at the historic Manduševac Fountain, soaking in the atmosphere of Zagreb’s city center. Next, we walk past the impressive Ban Josip Jelačić Statue and head down the lively shopping street Ilica, arriving at the charming Cvjetni trg (Flower Square). This area is full of bustling cafés and restaurants, perfect for people-watching on a rainy evening. As we continue, we reach the Nikola Tesla Monument, along with a brightly decorated street art installation created by artist brothers Slaven “Lunar” Kosanović and Ivo “Smack” Kosanović. Walking along Nikole Tesle Street, we arrive at the peaceful and scenic Zrinjevac Park, passing the historic Meteorological Post and the beautiful Music Pavilion (Glazbeni paviljon). We then continue south past the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts and the stunning Art Pavilion in Zagreb (Umjetnički paviljon), stopping briefly at the Fontana Kralja Tomislava.
