Coal Trains In Thurmond West Virginia! Historic Railroad Towns! C&O Coal Branches!

Thurmond, West Virginia coal trains! This historic railroad town is owned by the state of West Virginia and is restored. CSX and RJ Corman run trains here along with Amtrak Cardinal. Check out the old C&O coaling tower, the historic brick buildings and the awesome coal trains. The movie "Matewan" was filmed here in 1987. Trains we saw: 1. 12:38pm RJ Corman went up the branch to Pax with a couple CSX locomotives to get coal loads. 2. 1:28pm CSX westbound coal train. 3. 3:03pm CSX eastbound coal train. 4. 4:50pm CSX eastbound coal train. 5. 5:31pm RJ Corman coal train off Pax Branch. 6. 6:26pm CSX eastbound mixed freight. 7. 7:15pm Amtrak Cardinal westbound.
