Perspective in visual art is the illusion of depth created on flat paper, which is fantastic. Perspective in sound is the placement of sound in terms of foreground, middle ground and background. Nathan Beeler ties this to score study, particularly with a symphony that he has recently conducted, and explores how going deeper into a piece of art, music or ....life is a way to gain more and finer perspective. Nathan Beeler is a music educator, conductor, performer and speaker from Halifax, Nova Scotia. He is currently the department head of the Halifax All City Music Program and conducts the Halifax Schools Symphony Orchestra. In 2010, Nathan was a recipient of the Prime Minister's Award for Teaching Excellence, one of Canada’s highest awards for educators.
