What is the best drink mix out there for endurance athletes? There are a lot of options out there. Some have very few calories, some have a moderate calorie content of mostly simple sugars, and others have a high calorie content with a lot of maltodextrin in them. They all have electrolytes but the ratios are different. In this video I go over some key features of different types of drink mixes. Many of them can be very good, and ultimately recommend trying out different eating and drinking strategies. See what drink mix you like and sits well with your stomach, and take into account how many calories you think that you need. Practice your eating habits in training and make sure that you know what works well for you. Personally, I usually prefer medium calorie drink mixes with moderate food intake. I find that very low or high calorie mixes sometimes don't work as well for me, but that's not the case for everyone, so go try things out in training and make sure you know what works for you.
