Mt. Bierstadt Hike (14,065’) and Pike National Forest Boondocking - Climbing my first 14er!

Doing some boondocking in Pike National Forest and climbing Mt. Mt Bierstadt (14,065’) is located within Pike National Forest and I read that it was one of the easier 14ers to climb. I have to agree that it really wasn’t too bad. Of course, it is a 14,000 ft. mountain, so I don’t want to downplay it and say it was easy, but it was not the most difficult mountain I have climbed. With that said, the views were incredible and the sunrise I got was so beautiful! Not a cloud in the sky making for a beautiful Colorado bluebird sky! Some day I plan to go back and do take the Saw Tooth Ridge over to Mt. Evans. That scramble looks like so much fun! I also included my stop in a dispersed camping area within Pike National Forest near the Bierstadt trailhead for some boondocking in the Manivan. It was so peaceful and relaxing spending the day here and of course nice to have a short drive to the trailhead in the morning! I am so pumped to finally get the first 14er out of the way and I can’t wait to tackle more!
