This video explores the teaching of Chapter 29 of the Diamond Sutra, “The Chapter on the Tranquility of Proper Conduct,” which clarifies that the true nature of the Tathāgata does not lie in outward appearances or in the coming and going of physical movement. People often imagine the Buddha as someone who walks, sits, or lies down, but the Sutra reveals that the ultimate state of awakening—the Dharma Body—transcends time and space and abides without change. Just as a bodhisattva cultivates merit without attachment, the Buddha is not bound by the manifested form of the transformation body that appears according to conditions. Remaining in the stillness of non-action, the Buddha is free from grasping at form or result. Though the moon seems to rise and set, the moon itself never changes; in the same way, the mind that has transcended birth and death neither ages nor moves. This text does not deny conduct or movement on the surface, but points beyond them to the meaning of true quiescence. It teaches that recognizing the stillness present within all actions—moving yet unmoving, silent yet responsive—is the essential aim of Buddhist practice. #DiamondSutra #Chapter29 #Tathagata #DharmaBody #NonAbiding #NonDuality #Emptiness #BuddhistPractice #Awakening #StillnessInMotion #Transcendence #ZenWisdom #DharmaTalk #CHACHABuddhistStories
