Residential Structure Fire: Offensive to Defensive Strategy

Video and radio traffic from a defensive residential structure fire in November of 2025. On Monday, November 25th, 2024 at 7:03pm, Albuquerque Fire Rescue was dispatched to 3017 Camino De La Sierra NE, for reports of a possible structure fire at single family dwelling. Engine 8 arrived on scene and reported smoke and fire at this single family dwelling. Engine 8 declared a working attic fire. Multiple hose lines were stretched to the interior of the structure. While crews worked to locate the fire and control it, a search of the home was completed and no occupants were found. The fire had spread throughout the void space and was too far developed for interior operations to continue. Crews were forced to exit the structure due to the intensity and damage to the structural roof members. The fire was fought from the exterior with aerial master streams, ground monitors and hand-lines. The fire was finally brought under control and crews remained on scene for several hours to ensure extinguishment. There were no reports of injuries to any civilians or firefighters. The residence was a total loss. The cause of the fire was determined to be accidental, created during repairs being done to the home. No additional information is currently available.
