For practical applications solar modules are used that comine a number of individual solar cells. This video discusses the parallel connection of solar cells and uses Kirchhoff’s Circuit Laws to calculate the module voltage and current for idential cells and cells with different current-voltage characteristics, e.g., due to shading. In the calculations the simple diode model is used. This video is part of a course offered at Kiel University for advanced engineering bachelor students.
