This video is a response to Brandon's video (see bottom of this description for the sequence of videos). But, even if you haven't watched his video, you might still find this valuable since I explain why, in my coaching practice, I focus so heavily on guiding ENTP's to develop their capacities for body/emotional awareness. Specifically, this video is largely about why I believe it's highly beneficial for ENTP's to develop more nuanced awareness of their internal emotional landscapes, and how feeling feelings (rather than pure analytical logic alone) during a conversation/argument/debate can actually be a sign of powerful growth. Here are the main topics I cover: Why you might consider trusting me How ENTP's think out loud to figure out where they really stand on a topic How a lot of ENTP's struggle with nihilism and feeling like few things in life matter, and why that might be Why practicing noticing how you feel is valuable, and how feelings can act as an alert system and give you access to additional data channels inside yourself Why it's so important to feel validated and seen What I mean by most things being subjective rather than objective How body awareness can help you feel more alive How repressing or not fully being with feelings can lead to chronic tension in the body How subconscious feelings can actually color what you think of as logical thoughts Also, two additional things I'd like to say after recording this: First, I want to emphasize that I actually agree with the majority of what Brandon said, and I want to thank you, Brandon, for engaging so respectfully 🙂 Second, I apologize for when I said "I invite you to do some Googling" at one point. I later realized (through a feeling of regret! 🙂) that (a) that likely came across as dismissive, and (b) that when I make a claim, the burden of proof is on me to back it up. My intention was to express that if you Google a phrase like "repressing feelings tension in body," you'll find all sorts of articles reinforcing the point I was trying to make. But again, I apologize for how I expressed that. Thanks for watching!
