Bringing our lives to our work | Ritesh Batra | TEDxIIMIndore

Ritesh Batra introduces himself as a chronicler of mundane exploits of regular people. Through the lens of a movie director, he realizes that bringing oneself to one’s work, helps in connecting people around them to their own work and they bring their lives to it. While he narrates his experiences in making the movie “The Lunchbox”, he explains how his choice of unconventional protagonists have connected him with the common man and how one’s work can become a mirror for others to see their reflections in it. Recorded at IIM Indore on 1st March 2015 Organized by the Industry Interaction Cell, IIM Indore Mr. Ritesh Batra was associated with the Sundance Screenwriters and Directors labs in 2009. His Arab language short Café Regular, Cairo screened at over 40 international film festivals and won 12 awards. His debut feature, ‘The Lunchbox’ won the Grand Rail d’Or Award at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival, amongst over 40 awards and was recently nominated for a BAFTA.
