El Camino De Santiago 2025 - Day 11 - Belorado to Agès

Woken up around 4 am to festivals in Belorado, for their annual celebration of the town. Pilgrims soon started leaving and we were right next to the door, learn from us not to sleep right next to the door because people are in and out without ceasing! Mom had her 2nd worst night of sleep unfortunately but we left around 8 and met Paul for breakfast at his hotel, he bought us a catered breakfast buffet, so kind of him. The 5 of us started off on our trek, a brisky cold morning that felt crisp and amazing. Through the long wheaat fields and filled with sunflower fields, we saw a side quest to a temple built into the hill but just took pictures and continued. had a great brunch at the first town we stopped at to get mom another cafe, then continued onward along the farmlands. For lunch, we stopped at a super busy cafe that had a lot of options, I love their fried food! Got a big fat slice of bacon kind of thing, croquetas, bread, and this ice cream sandwich called a Filipino, my favorite! they have fun, new ice cream flavors at all these little cafes. We went through some amazing groves and forests that had the mystical, forbidden look with mist and peace among pines. A nice guy named Angel had a rest stop with some snacks and drinks, very kind of him. He had some Ella Fitzgerald music that people danced to, Mom and Andrew had a fun dance. We continued down into Ortega, where there were only 2 spots left, our new friend Baptiste from France got a bed there before us, by the way Baptiste is one of my best friends on the Camino. Then we let Clare and Andrew have the last 2 beds at that albergue. There was a monastery there but we heard bad reviews and decided to press a couple of kilometers to the next town of Ages. It was a beautiful walk for the last section in between towns. My mom and I were the only people on the trail, as most pilgrims stop hiking after 2 pm. We went through another amazing forest with this red pine looking bark, then upon a hill with 360º views, then dropping down into the quaint town of Ages. Found 2 beds, the last 2, at the Albergue, and stayed with an italian couple that was unfortunately sick throughout the night, and our family of 3 brazilians.
