For thousands of years settlements in eastern and southeastern Europe repeatedly burnt down. The clay in their houses was vitrified by the intense heat from these fires and left its mark in the landscape. This phenomenon was region-wide and took place during the Neolithic and Chalcolithic but researchers have never been sure why or how it happened. In this video I talk about these fires and the evidence that's been uncovered for what actually took place. #ancienthistory #neolithic #neolithicrevolution ✨ IN THIS EPISODE 00:00 Where is the Burned House Horizon? 00:45 Eastern and Southeastern Europe during the Neolithic 02:06 The Burned House Phenomenon 06:54 Experimental Archaeology ✨ JOIN MY CHANNEL / @megalithhunter ✨ FOLLOW ME ON SOCIALS BlueSky: @MegalithHunter.bsky.social ✨ REFERENCES Tringham, R.
