In May 2024, Irish Medtech Skillnet will launch a new training programme ‘BioInnovate 101: Essentials of Health Technology Innovation’ which covers the essential principles, tools and language of Biodesign for companies who want to enhance their product development process and drive a culture of needs-led innovation. In advance of the launch of BioInnovate 101, a webinar took place for industry parfticipants to introduce the programme. Dr Sinead Walsh of BioInnovate described how this novel programme has been developed in collaboration with industry through the Irish Medtech Skillnet, and how it can add value to a wide range of disciplines across technical, clinical and commercial functions within your organisation by providing learners with the fundamental tools and understanding to undertake a needs-led process for innovating health technologies while minimising the risk of project or commercial failure. Because BioInnovation focuses on enterprise-wide practices which leverage input across clinical, technical and commercial functions to drive needs-led innovation, the event was attended by industry professionals across a wide range of disciplines who provide input at any stage of the product development cycle.
