In this session, we explored one of the most powerful truths in Paul’s letter to the Romans — that even our sufferings have purpose when we are justified by faith. Dr. Babu led the study by reminding us that justification is a completed act of God — we are declared righteous through Jesus Christ, not by our own works. From that moment, every believer stands in grace, has peace with God, and gains continual access to His presence. 👉 Highlights from this session: Peace with God – Justification restores our relationship with God, removing all hostility and guilt. Access through Christ – Jesus gives us constant access to God’s presence, a privilege unimaginable under the Old Covenant. Standing in Grace – Believers no longer live under law but under grace — empowered, not condemned. Hope in Glory – Our hope is not wishful thinking; it’s the confident expectation of sharing in God’s eternal glory. Purpose in Suffering – Suffering produces perseverance, character, and hope — shaping us into Christ’s likeness. Dr. Babu emphasized that sanctification (our growth in holiness) flows out of justification — while justification is entirely God’s act, sanctification is a process that involves both divine grace and human surrender. Through endurance and trials, our character is refined and our hope deepens. 💬 Key Insight: “We rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope.” — Romans 5:3–4
