As prophesied, Australian Sagegazer Michael Wild’s Blue Crystal eventually answered the call issued by Roy “Batty” Whenary. Leaving behind his solitary work in Australia, Wild joined the Dawn Awakening collective as the Patchoulilight entered its final phase of resistance (which echoed the final phase of the Glimmerlight). In 1994, Wild recorded Beyond Worlds, a cassette that would come to be regarded as one of the last true classics of the Patchoulilight era. . . . Like Whenary’s own work, Beyond Worlds drew directly from the holiest of the 69 Sagegazer Gospels, Space Leaper. Written in 1978, Space Leaper foretold the dispersal of the Glimmerlight’s synthesists and framed exile as a cycle of departure, transformation, and return - romance braided with loss, death folded into rebirth. Wild sought to translate this vision into sound, shaping Beyond Worlds as a vessel capable of moving across timelines, carrying its harmonics forward to future Sagegazers, backward to those lost, or those synthesists and their Blue Crystals departed to the Offworld Colony. In Sagegazer lore, the cassette is also remembered as a preparatory map for the Third Migration - composed for those who did not know yet where they were traveling or when they would arrive. . . . Your slumber's end is near, and far across the universe your thoughts compose the Sagegazers' song.
