You can follow me on Instagram : / monsterjay_art Here's the third video of my detailled bodypaint technique tutorial. Last time, i talked about the dry-on-dry blending technique and now i talk about the technique that is literaly the opposite, the wet-on-wet blending technique. While the dry-on-dry technique is a good technique to blend in a dark color over a regular color in a small area, the wet-on-wet blending is great to blend a regular color into a light one for a wider area. The wet-on-wet technique is a technique that i use rarely, but that i love to use when working with white. For the demonstration in this video, i use the Mehron paradise paints in White and Storm cloud grey The goal of the wet-on-wet technique is to use the wet base color as a buffer that will prevent transfering to much of the other color. Even if it's wet-on-wet, it is better to wait that the base layer dried down. Otherwise, you may remove too much paint in the process. When performing the wet-on-wet blending technique, it is always best to use one brush per color in order to work fast. You don't want to lose time rinsing your brush between colors. With the wet-on-wet technique, you want to work fast and delicately while the paint is still wet. I don't blend back and forth between colors like i do with others technique because if i would do it the same way, it would remove way more paint. In a nutshell You start with the base layer and wait that it dries down You reapply a layer over the base layer using the same color You apply the second color and start blending it by doing brushstrokes toward the base color, starting by where you want the second color to be the most intense. You may reuse you base layer color and drag it toward you second color Repeat until you get the desired result. Compared to wet-on-dry or dry-on-dry, don't redo it as often. It is easy with wet-on-wet to over do it, to overblend or too get lesser covergage by removing too much paint in the process. As i mentionnned in the video, i have some tricks to keep my white pure and bright. I plan to explain all of it in an upcoming video, probably the next one of the serie.
