GIRL TALK: If you’re a woman 35 and up, this is your reminder to start paying attention to your hormones — because perimenopause can start earlier than you think, and it can seriously impact your mental health. In this brief Finally 50 episode (I’m doing my hair while we talk 😅), I share why I wish I’d taken this more seriously at 35, instead of waiting until around 45 when it was already affecting my mood, focus, sleep, and overall mental wellbeing. Perimenopause symptoms don’t always look like “hot flashes.” Sometimes it looks like: • increased anxiety or panic • irritability / rage • depression or low mood • brain fog, forgetfulness, low motivation • sleep issues and overwhelm • feeling like your coping skills suddenly stopped working And if you already deal with ADHD, Complex PTSD (C-PTSD), PMDD, or other mental health challenges, hormone shifts can make things feel even more intense. I’m not a doctor — this is lived experience and a loving nudge to advocate for yourself, track your symptoms, and talk to a qualified healthcare professional about what testing and support makes sense for you (including asking what labs they recommend, and whether a “normal” result is optimal for you). If you’re starting a new chapter, rebuilding your life, or just trying to protect your peace as you age… your mental health deserves proactive care. 💬 Question: Have you noticed changes in mood, sleep, or focus in your late 30s/40s? What has helped you the most? #Finally50 #Perimenopause #WomensHealth #girltalk
