Making Donuts with a Bread Machine

Homemade Donuts from a Bread Machine Into the pan of your bread machine add the following as listed: 1 ¼ cup of lukewarm milk ¼ cup of sugar 1 ½ tsps fast rising yeast 1 beaten egg ¼ cup shortening 1 tsp salt 3 ½ cups flour Set the machine on the dough cycle which will lead you through the mixing and first rise of the dough. Once the machine has finished carefully may the dough on a clean surface and gently flatten it until it is about ¾ to 1 inch thick. Use your cutters to cut out the donut shapes. Allow the donuts to rise for an hour before cooking. When you are ready to cook bring 1 ½ quarts of oil to 350 degrees in a deep pot. Bring the temperature up slowly because it can get over heated very quickly. Once you have done it a few times you will know where the sweet spot is on the dial on your stove. Don’t overcrowd the pan as you lay the dough in. If the oil cools off to quickly then bring it back to 350 before you put the next batch in. Cool on a rack or even paper towels before glazing. To make the glaze mix together: 3 cups of powdered sugar 1/3 cup milk 1 tsp vanilla Dip the donuts in the glaze and set aside to drip. www.vecteezy.com/video/2041721-drinking-coffee-and-reading-book-concept Drinking Coffee and Reading Book Concept.
