Hello Amigos and Amigas in this beautiful day!🫡🇵🇹 Today again, I'm taking cooking into my own hands, and we have some interesting things to cook of traditional Portuguese cuisine, but everything by order😁 So, started the day the Portuguese way, went to butcher and got all ingredients. Went back home and cooking starts — with an ice-cold Super Bock 🍺 and a tasting of three local cheeses🧀 Creamy, sharp, salty… each bite was perfect with the beer. To be honest, now cheese will be my new passion of Portugal💯 The best warm-up before getting the grill going🔥 On the fire, it was a full enchidos feast: 🥓 Farinheira — smoky, soft, and creamy inside, made from flour, pork fat, garlic, wine, and paprika. Very different from a “normal” sausage, but once grilled it’s good. 🩸 Morcela de Arroz — blood sausage with rice. Deep, earthy, comforting — a rustic favorite that feels like tradition on a plate. My favorite. 🥖 Alheira — born from history. Made with bread, poultry, garlic, and olive oil, it was created centuries ago by Portuguese Jews. Today it’s one of the country’s most unique enchidos, smoky and garlicky. Well, it should be that way, but I failed to cook it right🤣 🌶️ Chouriço — the icon. Pork, wine, garlic, paprika… strong, smoky, and the smell alone is enough to make neighbors jealous😂 🥩 Linguiça — thinner than chouriço(in theory), a touch sweeter, but still packed with garlic and smoke. Perfect with bread and cheese and I kind of like it better than chouriço. 🐖 Salsichas Frescas — no smoking, no curing, just fresh pork with garlic and herbs, juicy and simple — a real BBQ classic. ⚫ Chouriço Mouro (Black Chouriço) — darker and richer than the regular kind, made with pork blood, spices, and garlic. Smoky, intense, and a must-have for anyone who loves bold flavors. Only, I need to work on right preparation style. Need more experience👌 And because Portugal never ends a meal without something sweet… I finished with two pastries: one filled with doce de ovos (egg yolk cream, golden and silky), and another salame doce (sweet chocolate salami). It turned out to be the perfect sweet ending💯 Cheese, beer, sausages, pastries… this was the full pure joy! I walked away stuffed, smiling, and definitely ready for nap again😂 👉 Next time, even more fire, more food, and more Portugal. Stay hungry!
